Renovation Notice

October 1st, 2023, marked the 30th anniversary of the opening of Twin Farms by our founder, Thurston Twigg Smith, the eclectic designer, art collector, conservationist, and visionary, who turned this historic corner of Vermont into a world class destination.  From that day forward, Twin Farms has been committed to the constant improvement of our guests’ experience and to staying up to date with shifting expectations in the modern world.  To this point, we have embarked on a long-term effort to enhance and expand our guest offerings, which I am excited to share with you.

We have completed our reimagined Twigg’s as well as the expansion of Twigg’s Terrace, where the beauty of the Vermont countryside and incredible food come together.  Although we are probably a bit biased, the space is absolutely beautiful, and has been welcoming guests seven nights a week for cocktails and dinner service.

The Main House Terrace has been completed as well.  Reimagined to allow for alfresco dining three seasons of the year, the expanded terrace has doubled our outdoor seating capacity while incorporating a gorgeous pergola, beautiful lighting, and outdoor heaters.  Additionally, we now have an impressive stone gas-lit firepit just off the South Porch, which has quickly become a guests favorite for an early evening glass of champagne before dinner.

The Furo has also undergone a complete renovation.  This 8,000-gallon saltwater pool has been equipped with an overhead passing shower feature that cools off guests at the push of a button as they soak in the 104-degree water.  Enjoyed by guests at all hours of the day, the Furo now requires a reservation, which allows our team to prepare the space between visits.

We have just completed a series of eight exquisitely designed Treehouses.    To preserve the all-important sense of privacy amongst nature that has become synonymous with Twin Farms, we have converted a part of the Blue Trail into a drivable loop through the woods where the remaining Treehouses will be located.  I encourage you to review our Trail Map to get a better sense of each Treehouses’ location and invite you to travel with us via our Blog as we continue to share updates.

During our annual closure beginning in March, we will set about to reimagine our main house Dining Room.  We will again, tap our extraordinary design team at Michaelis Boyd, to create a space that preserves the intimacy and authentic New England Inn feel.  The project which will bring more light into the space, will be complete in late May.  For the first three weeks in May, we welcome guests for breakfast and lunch in Twiggs, and will serve dinner both the Main House Barn Room and Twiggs.

We are excited about these improvements and added amenities and will be sharing photos and the progress being made throughout the process.

Thank you for your continued support of Twin Farms – we are truly grateful.

Sincerely,

John Graham
Managing Director
